Math: Numeration

In math, students have been strengthening their number sense and investigating answers to the following two essential questions:

• How are greater numbers read and written?
• How can whole numbers be compared and ordered?

Through this work, students learned how to represent numbers with up to 6 digits using expanded form, standard form, word form, and place-value blocks. Students also spent time investigating and understanding the number line. Additionally, students used their knowledge of place value in order to accurately order and compare large numbers.
